New Sharia compliant Fund

15 May 2023

The Trustees of the Scheme, alongside their professional investment advisers, have carried out a review of the DC investment options and have decided to improve the range of investment funds available to members by introducing a new self-select fund that meets Shariah compliance principles, the Islamic Global Equity Index Fund (the “Fund”) (ISIN: IE000G1X4XT2). This Fund is now available for you to invest in.

Fund characteristics

The Fund is passively managed and invests in equity shares of companies that make up the Dow Jones Islamic Market Titans 100 Index (the “Index”). The Index is designed to measure the performance of the largest 100 companies traded globally that pass rule-based screens for adherence to Shariah principles. The Index excludes shares of companies that generate more than 5% of income or revenue from the business activities such as: alcohol, tobacco, pork-related products, conventional financial services, weapons and defences, certain entertainment.

The Total Expense Ratio (TER) for the fund is 0.30%.

Fund Investment objective

The Fund aims to track as closely as possible the performance of the Index and achieve capital growth over the long term.
